DECLARATION OF FAITH
Worship Word and Prayer Ministries believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. Worship, Word and Prayer Ministries adopts the following Declaration of Faith as the standard and official expression of our doctrine.
1. We Believe in One God Who Exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
We believe there is only one God, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 1:1) Text in the New Testament bears witness to the triune nature of God the Father, God the Son as Jesus the only begotten Son of God, and God the Holy Spirit.
God as Father, Jesus as Son, and the Holy Spirit are in complete unity.
All are a part of creation and vital to the salvation of humankind.
God as Father is the master architect of the entire plan of creation. (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 24:1-2)
Jesus as Son is the expression of God’s mercy and grace to humankind, serving as the bridge between Himself and man. Jesus is the Chief Intercessor and Cornerstone of the household of God. (Hebrews 7:21, Ephesians 2:19-22)
The Holy Spirit as Comforter is the Revealer of Truth and serves as the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God in individual believers and enables them to live a righteous and faithful life. (John 14:7, 14:26)
God is in Jesus and Jesus is in God; the Holy Spirit, as the Divine Interpreter, is from God and in God. They are equal in purpose, equal in power, and equal in authority; completely and totally unified. Therefore, we conclude that there is one God manifest in three persons.
2. We Believe in Jesus Christ
We believe that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was begotten of God; He is truly God and truly Man as God manifested in the flesh. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and now reigns in glory until all things be put under His feet. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; and no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him. (1 Timothy 3:16, John 14:6)
3. We Believe in Justification by Grace Through Faith
We believe that justification is by grace through faith in our Lord’s sacrifice on Calvary. Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected: the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto damnation and death. Faith and belief in Christ's redemptive work on Calvary which results in repentance and conversion is the beginning of a true Christian life. A true conversion is evidenced by a spiritual rebirth, restoration of peace with God and man, the fruit of the Spirit, and obedience to God's word. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:21-24, Romans 6:23, John 5:28-29, Hebrews 11:6, 1 Peter 1:23, Romans 5:1, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 John 2:5-6)
4. We Believe in Baptism by Water and Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that Baptism by Water is an outward symbol that is representative of believers surrendering their lives in faith and obedience to God, subsequent to conversion. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is demonstrative of the cleansing of the heart from sin and the abiding indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit empowering the believer for life and service. We further believe that the believer receives and is strengthened by the Holy Spirit, upon conversion and sanctification. Sanctification is a state of perfect love, righteousness and true holiness which every converted believer may obtain by being delivered from the power of sin, loving God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and loving others as Christ loves us. Through faith in Jesus Christ, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit may be received in this life both gradually and instantaneously and should be sought earnestly by every child of God. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who works in all of us. It is one and the same Spirit who distributes all the Gifts of the Spirit, and He alone decides which gift each person should have. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
5. We Believe in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation Without Change
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, John 20:30-31, Acts 20:32)
